History Of Electronic Truck Scales

Early Mechanical Stage
Before the 1980s, mainstream truck scales were purely mechanical structures relying on the lever principle, also known as mechanical weighbridges. These had low weighing efficiency, large errors, and required manual balancing of weights for measurement.

 

Early Electronic Stage
In the mid-1980s, with the maturation of high-precision weighing sensor technology, mechanical weighbridges were gradually replaced by analog electronic truck scales. These devices offered higher accuracy, better stability, and easier operation, officially becoming the market mainstream.

 

Digital Upgrade Stage
Subsequently, electronic truck scales further iterated from analog to digital, adopting RS485 bus transmission for digital signals. This significantly improved anti-interference capabilities and added functions such as automatic angle difference calibration, fault self-diagnosis, and anti-cheating encryption. Protection levels reached up to IP68, making them suitable for complex industrial scenarios such as ports and metallurgy.

 

Intelligent Development Stage

In recent years, electronic truck scales have begun to evolve towards unmanned operation and dynamic weighing. By integrating AI algorithms, license plate recognition, and IoT communication technologies, they can complete weighing while the vehicle is in motion. The data can be directly connected to the ERP system to achieve automated management of the entire weighing process, which greatly improves the operational efficiency of logistics, mining and other scenarios.
