How to Determine if an Electronic Scale Needs Cleaning

Visual Appearance: Obvious dust, food residue, oil, or water stains on the scale surface and in the crevices of the body, as well as dirt on the buttons and display screen, indicate the need for immediate cleaning.

Performance Malfunctions: If you experience drifting readings under no-load conditions, significant deviations in weight readings after multiple weighings, or unresponsive buttons, after ruling out issues like uneven placement or insufficient battery power, it's highly likely that accumulated dirt is affecting the sensor or circuitry, requiring cleaning and maintenance.

Usage Scenarios and Frequency: If used in dusty environments, or with oil/salt spray, or if used continuously for more than a week without cleaning, even if there is no obvious external dirt, it is recommended to perform regular dust removal and cleaning to prevent hidden dirt buildup from damaging components.
