Standard Operating Procedures:
First, place the electronic scale on a level, hard surface. Turn on the scale and wait for the screen to display a stable "0.0". Place an empty container stably in the center of the weighing pan. Once the reading stops fluctuating, press the "Tare" button (some models label it TA/TARE). The screen will return to zero.
Add the item to be weighed into the container. The displayed value is the pure weight of the item; no manual subtraction is required.
Key Precautions:
Some smart scales require pressing and holding the "Unit/Settings" button for more than 3 seconds to trigger tare. The operation may vary slightly between brands; please refer to the product manual for confirmation.
After weighing, remove the container. The screen will display a negative tare value. Press the "Tare/Zero" button again to return to the normal zero state and avoid weighing errors later.
When changing to a new container, simply place the new container on top and press the tare button again to update the tare weight; no device restart is required.
