Electronic scales are weighing devices that integrate modern sensor technology, electronic technology, and computer technology. Related technologies cover the entire process from signal acquisition to intelligent applications. The core technologies can be divided into the following categories:

 

Core Sensing Technologies

Strain Gauge Sensing Technology: Using a resistance strain gauge as the core component, this technology converts force deformation into resistance change through a Wheatstone bridge, outputting a weak electrical signal. This is the mainstream solution for ordinary commercial and household electronic scales. Mettler Toledo's patented POWERCELL technology integrates a microprocessor within the sensor to achieve digital compensation, resulting in measurement accuracy three times higher than traditional strain gauge sensors.

Electromagnetic Force Compensation Technology: Primarily used in high-precision electronic balances, this technology uses an electromagnetic force to balance the weight of the object being measured through a closed-loop automatic adjustment system. Signal Processing Technology

High-Precision ADC Technology: Represented by the HX711, this 24-bit analog-to-digital converter employs Delta-Sigma modulation technology and incorporates a low-noise programmable gain amplifier, accurately converting extremely weak analog signals from sensor outputs into digital signals.

Signal Conditioning Algorithms: Includes filtering, temperature compensation, and linear calibration algorithms, effectively mitigating interference from vibration, airflow, and temperature drift, significantly improving weighing stability and data reliability.

 

Main Control and Hardware Technology
The mainstream approach utilizes STM32 and 8051 microcontrollers as the control core, performing data processing, display control, and functional logic scheduling, achieving basic functions such as automatic zeroing, tare, and automatic calibration.

Hardware Structure Technology: Includes high-protection-level design (IP68/IP69K), impact-resistant carbon steel/stainless steel weighing body structure, and a full-bridge uniform load layout, adapting to the needs of special applications such as industrial and food processing.
